Legislative special session begins, politicians start all over on quest for plan

PHOENIX - Five days after state lawmakers ended a 170-day legislative session, they're back at their desks today figuring out how to come to an agreement on a budget.
It's been a six-month fight pitting Democrats, Republicans and Gov. Jan Brewer - and now, with Brewer vetoing much of the GOP's budget, lawmakers are back to square one.

Late push in run helps Ribes easily win women's race 
It was the finale by foot where Lisa Ribes took over Sunday.
Ribes, 31, claimed the women's division of the Holualoa Firecracker Triathlon with a serious last kick, using the third leg of the event - a three-mile run that twice circled the University of Arizona mall - to take the title, finishing in 1 hour 2 minutes 40 seconds.

At first Stewart Loew was excited by the sight: a mountain lion on the family's farm near Amado.
In 40 years on the Agua Linda Farm, Loew said this was first large cat he had seen when it appeared in the donkey pen about a month ago.
